Skandinavian Ski Pride

7. März 2019 - 10. März 2019

Hemsedal is Norway’s premier ski destination and with the best people, this will definitely result in the experience of a lifetime.

Scandinavian ski Pride is an active, social and fun weekend with a varied program the four days of the festival. There will be ski- and snowboard classes and fun competitions. And there will of course be entertainment, after ski and pride-parties and more.

Hemsedal

The ski resort offers a large selection of high standard cabins, apartments and hotels run by SkiStar, Scandinavia’s largest owner of ski resorts.

Scandinavian Ski Pride cooperates with Hemsedal Ski Resort, and our festival packages makes it possible for all festival goers to be gathered in one area close to the skiing facilities.

Scandinavia’s snow-guaranteed ski resort

Hemsedal is often called Scandinavia’s Alps, and it is easy to understand why. Here you will find really long slopes surrounded by a dizzying mountain environment. The resort opens in November and stays open every day until the first weekend of May. March/April is usually the best time of year with sun and stabile weather that invites to sitting outside as well as excellent conditions in the slopes for amazing skiing.

Getting to Hemsedal

The journey from Oslo to Hemsedal will take approximately 3,5 depending on traffic and driving conditions. There are also busses to Hemsedal from Oslo Airport, Oslo, Drammen and Bergen.

You may take the train (from either Oslo or Bergen) to Gol and then the bus to Hemsedal. Last leg approx. 25 minutes.

The ski resort

  • 47 slopes with varied level of skill required

  • 20 ski lifts

  • 4 parker and 2 ski cross arenas

  • Longest downhill run: 6000 meters

  • Difference in elevation: 810 meters

  • Highest point of slopes: 1450 mamsl

  • Number of prepped slopes in forest/valley: 120 km

  • Number of high mountain slopes 90 km

  • Excellent free-skiing and off-opportunities

  • Arena for speed testing, parallel runs, big air bag, skating rinks and more

«Varied slopes, big snowboard park and excellent conditions for off-piste accompanied by the Norwegian nature at its wildest speaks for itself. Hemsedal isn’t best at everything, but we have the best of everything.»

Alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross country

Hemsedal Ski resort has Norway’s highest prepped slopes with Totten at 1450 mamsl, Hamaren at 1444 mamsl and Røgjin at 1370 mamsl. Stabile cold Norwegian climate makes Hemsedal one of the most snow guaranteed skiing destinations in Europe. All slopes are connected. One can walk from Storevatnet to Bjøberg approx. 60 km one way. One could also take the ski lifts of Hemsedal ski resort and Solheisen to get higher up in the mountains.

Hemsedal has a well-developed network of cross country tracks in forest terrain, in the valley and up in the mountains, with more than 130 km daily maintained tracks (somewhat limited in April). In total, Hemsedal has 210 km prepped cross country tracks.
